Description of project
The architect designed the municipal office house, which has a rather small construction volume, but shows a striking development in height in order to find an independent perception in the heterogeneous townscape as a public building. In the basement floor of the 5-storey construction are the storage, technical and archive rooms located. The office and service rooms can be found on the ground floor, on the first and on the second floor. A big multipurpose-meeting-hall is situated on the attic floor. At the backside of the building a roofed, driveable access area was created with retaining walls on the basement level.
The solid ferroconcrete structure from the basement to the ceiling above the second floor is essential for the visually over the building hovering roof. The roof is supported by tender steel columns alongside the outer walls. The reinforcement of the roof is created only by the steel middle purlin, which rests on the lift core and on a clamped intermediate support. This way the architect’s requirement for an open attic floor could be realised.
