Description of project

The filter barrier/debris dam of the Alvier-river in the municipality of Brand (A) consists of a main and a subsidiary dam. It was built as a mass-active, dissolved load-bearing structure. The main dam with wing walls is connected through preliminary framing with the auxiliary dam and thus as a whole system works like a cantilever retaining wall. The filter section is separated by a central pillar into two parts with a width of 5 m and a height of 8 m. The filter grids are made of steel girders. In the main dam and in the subsidiary dam two parts with different heights of flow-off were built in order to create a low-water channel over the stilling basin.

Description of tasks

  • Statically dimensioning of the dam
  • Detailed planning of the dam
  • Reinforcement and formwork plans
