Description of project
The building consists of a one-storey vehicle hall for the fire brigade (l/w/h = aprrox. 31m/20m/5.50m - 6.80m), a hose tower (h = approx. 12m) and a two-storey area (head-end structure) with garages for the water- and mountain rescue and other rooms (in total l/w/h = approx. 27m/14.50m/6m - 7.20m). The difference in width between the two buildings is connected by a 4.50 m projecting canopy.
The building was mainly erected as reinforced concrete structure with semi-finished parts. The large span lengths of the vehicle hall were traversed by hollow core slabs.
A difficult task was the big size of the projecting canopy, in which the reinforced concrete ceiling and the hollow core slabs converge. Owing to the chosen solution a harmonic deformation pattern could be found.
Description of tasks
- Planning and calculation of the solid construction with single steel girders
- Elaboration of a solution for the projecting canopy with steel girders, which serve as a support for the hollow core slab and to which the reinforced concrete ceiling (element slab) connects
